Manager of Development and Engagement

FULL TIME

Salary range: $86,190 – $89,778

OPTIONS NORTHWEST Personal Support Services is a community-based, non-profit, charitable organization within the City and District of Thunder Bay.  Our purpose is to support people with developmental disabilities in their quest to live life their way.  We recognize that ‘living life their way’ is unique to each individual and that we live in a very diverse community.

This position will require:

  • degree/diploma in the Human Services or Clinical field
  • minimum of 3 years of experience at a supervisory level
  • experience in coaching, training, and operational planning. As well as promoting growth and leading initiatives to create a positive working environment.
  • proven creativity and leadership skills as demonstrated through successful initiatives taken and in planning, coaching, and training.
  • proven work experience, knowledge, training and advocacy in supporting individuals with both developmental disabilities and mental health diagnosis and in working with families and partners outside of the developmental services system, including the justice and health care systems
  • policy development experience
  • highly evolved interpersonal skills and organizational abilities
  • a clear understanding of a variety of support service models, legislation relevant to the Developmental Services Sector and health and safety management
  • current certifications in First Aid with CPR and Nonviolent Crisis Intervention (NCI) (or a willingness to obtain) and a commitment to ongoing learning and development
  • adequate computer skills, including working with database systems and Microsoft Office products
  • ability to work flexible hours and carry a mobile device

Reporting to the Director of Supported Living Services, the Manager of Development and Engagement plays a crucial role in guiding, coaching, and developing the team of supervisors to enhance overall team performance and deliver the highest quality of care. Through consistent coaching, training, and support, the Manager fosters leadership skills, promotes professional growth, and creates a positive and growth-oriented environment. This position is also responsible for assisting supervisors to develop and monitor operational plans for their respective service areas, while ensuring compliance with regulations, and maintaining a safe, supportive environment for staff and the people supported. The Manager will be accountable to operate within an approved budget and ensure that services are provided in accordance with OPTIONS policies, procedures and Ministry guidelines and directives, as well as the Services and Supports to Promote the Social Inclusion of Persons with the Developmental Disabilities Act, 2008, and the Quality Assurance Measures along with the Occupational Health and Safety Act and other relevant legislation.
